Knit Blouses

Sunday’s Someday Project: Emerald & Taupe Knit Blouses

Awhile ago, I purchased several yards of a slubbed rayon knit. It’s lightweight, super soft, and very drapey. I bought some in a dark teal and some in a light tan.

I would like to make two blouses from this fabric. I have a few patterns in mind: Simplicity 3790 view A or B, New Look 6940 view E, and New Look 6816 view B or C.

I really need a few knit blouses, especially long-sleeved. The trouble is, I don’t have a serger and in the past, I’ve had trouble with knits rippling when I used a regular machine. I need to get a book on sewing with knits and see if it has any solutions. If I can solve the rippling issue, I’ll go crazy making myself knit tops!

Have you sewed with knits before? Any tips or tricks?
